UDHAMPUR, Sept 13: Army Public School Udhampur organized a function to inculcate a sense of commitment and responsibility among the students, here today.
The function was held with such a motto to invest the students with a sense of responsibility and duty. The ceremony started with presentation of badges by the chief guest, followed by an oath taking ceremony where they pledged to carry out duties assigned to them with sincerity and efficiency.
The School Auditorium buzzed with enthusiasm and pride. The chief guest on the occasion was retired Lt Gen SS Grewal, Adjutant General at Army headquarters who is also an alumnus of Rashtriya Indian Military College and is decorated with PVSM, AVSM, SM and VSM. The chief guest urged the students to realize the importance of opportunities that come in their way and acquire skills that will make them worthy citizens who are willing to give back not only to their family but also to the society, nation and the world at large.
Ishaan Pandey and Ayushi Aabha led the student council as the chosen head boy and head girl respectively. Both of them in their speeches affirmed their missions and pledged to keep the flag of the School flying high. Along with the head boy and head girl, other members of the council were also chosen which included vice head boy, vice head girl, house captains, discipline, cultural, literary and assembly captains and vice captains.
The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by School Principal, Sanjeev Kumar. He congratulated the senate members and added that the student council body of the School represents values of righteousness, responsibility, integrity and leadership.
