APSCC’s concernover exclusion of Sikhs in religious circuit

SRINAGAR, Mar 18: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has expressed dismay over the exclusion of Sikh community in the religious circuits as announced by Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman during her budget speech.
In a press statement, the Committee chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina said that the Sikhs have been at the receiving since the present dispensation came to power led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. “Both the Central and JKUT Governments have adopted a discriminatory attitude towards the Sikh community”, he alleged.
The chairman further said the committee are not against any religious community but the appeasement to a particular community in term of allotment religious circuit should not be acceptable.
“Founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Ji and sixth Guru Hargobind had travelled widely in J&K and even Guru Nanak Dev ji’s had established Gurudwara in Mattan (South Kashmir) and “Pathar Sahib” at Leh but the present dispensation has neglected the community’s historical Gurudwara during the budget allocation.
Raina demanded that necessary amendments should be made in the budgetary allocation and the historical Gurudwaras of J&K should be included in the religious circuit.
