Army Commander reviews security

RAJOURI, Dec 26: General Officer Commanding- in-Chief Western  Army Command Lt Gen Phillip Campose visited the Rising Star Corps today.
Accompanied by Sayona Phillip, regional president Army Wives’ Welfare Association (AWWA), the Western Army Commander was received by GOC of  the Corps, Lt Gen Parveen Bakshi and Neerupama Bakshi at the headquarters.
The Army Commander was briefed by Lt Gen Bakshi and other senior officers about the operational preparedness, training, administration and various other aspects of the Corps. Later, Lt Gen Phillip addressed all officers where he gave an insight  into the present environmental realities and challenges posed for the Army. He was hopeful that men in uniform will ever be ready to live up to the expectations of the nation.
Meanwhile, in a separate function Mrs Phillip interacted with the  families of the garrison. She was also briefed about the various welfare activities being undertaken for empowerment of women/Veer Naris with emphasis on vocational skills, interior economy, computer training, medical care etc within the Rising Star Corps.
