LEH, Dec 15: Army’s Chushul Brigade under the aegis of Trishul Division organized Inter-Village Ice Hockey Tournament at Tangtse, here.
This is a popular sport of Ladakh during winters which captures the essence of Ladakh, especially when the water bodies freeze in the extreme cold.
As part of the operation Sadbhavna to encourage local talent in sports, this Inter-Village Ice Hockey Tournament is being organized in the memory of Lady Cadet Stanzin Odzes.
The Tournament is being conducted with active involvement of the local ‘Lalok Sports Association’.
The tournament witnessed participation of 12 Ice Hockey Teams of the local villages/schools.
During the Tournament, the skill, the speed, the enthusiasm, the ferocity and the fighting spirit of the Ladakhi players was displayed.
The colourful extravaganza also witnessed a cultural programme presented by the Army troops, which involved traditional Ladakhi dances and ‘Bhangra’.
