SRINAGAR, Oct 9: In continuation with the underlying idea to channelise the energies of youth in a right direction and to pave a path for youth to participate in sports at all levels, Army distributed sports equipment to talented and upcoming sportsmen of Kangan tehsil under Sadhbhavana-XVI, here today.
24 cricket bats, 40 cricket balls, 32 pair of batting gloves, 32 pairs of batting pads, 32 elbow guards, 48 thigh guards, 32 abdominal guards, 48 stumps, eight kit bags and 32 helmets were distributed to various cricket teams of Kangan tehsil.
In order to increase the popularity of other sports, one TT table, four table tennis racquets, 10 badminton nets, 20 badminton racquets, 14 volleyballs, four volleyball nets, five footballs, six football nets, 10 basketballs, four carom boards were also distributed to a number of Government Schools and village youth in Kangan tehsil.
