Jammu, Dec 31: Army and District Administration Bandipora today flagged off four members of Jammu & Kashmir Kick-Boxing team from Sonarwain, Bandipora to participate in 6th Sub-Junior & 8th Senior National Kick-Boxing to be held at Doon Public School, Lawda, Kurukshektra, Haryana from January 1 to January 5, 2015.
Army officers and various civil dignitaries including SSP Bandipora, Mohd Shabir Choudhary and ADC Bandipora Nazir Ahmad Baba were present on the occasion.
The team coach Faisal said “Army was approached to make this tour possible by giving assistance in terms of kitting of the team and provision of uniforms, they have gone beyond the requirements to make it possible for the team to participate in the tournament”.
He also said that the gesture by the Army will go long way in achieving and establishing new milestones in the field of sports for the budding players of Jammu & Kashmir.
