Army donates water purifiers, solar lanterns

SRINAGAR, Apr 21: As a part of its Sadbhavna initiatives, Army today donated water purifiers, solar lanterns and blankets to a mosque and Guruduwara at Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The mosque is adjacent to the shrine of Syed Hassan Mantaqi and Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Awantipora town, said a Defence spokesman.
“Victor Force Commander Major General Ashok Narula today visited these religious places to offer prayers and responding to the requests from the Maulvi and Granthi, regarding hardships caused by inclement weather, constant power cuts and water borne diseases due to incessant rains, presented blankets, solar lanterns and water purifiers for the people,” the spokesman added.
