KALAKOTE, July 1: To bring people together and provide them quality entertainment, a cultural evening was organized by Kalakote Rashtriya Rifles under Reasi based Rashtriya Rifles Headquarters at Sports Stadium, here today.
The event was presented by Saraswati Sangeet Kala Kendra of Poonch headed by Pradeep Khanna.
The programme was inaugurated by Abdul Majid Tantray, Tehsildar Kalakote, while Army personnel, BDO, SHO, Sarpanch and over 1000 spectators were present on the occasion.
The show started with a local song dedicated to the jawans of Army showcasing patriotism.
The Dogri and Punjabi songs with some of the finest folk dance performances enthralled all and sundry.
An awareness skit by Kalakote Jan Jagran Manch on the theme ‘Bad Effects of Intoxication and Drugs’ was organised on this occasion, which was appreciated by one and all. Artists from Kalakote Jan Jagran Manch also gave individual performances that included songs etc.
The event culminated with a valedictory function, wherein all the members of Cultural Group were felicitated by Tehsildar Kalakote.
Speaking on the occasion, Tehsildar conveyed that it was heartening to see such a wonderful cultural evening organized by Army.
He expressed special gratitude to Army for holding this entertaining event.
