Army helps to correct vision of Dolma under Operation Drishti

UDHAMPUR, Nov 21: Army under Operation Drishti helped to correct vision of Kunjus Dolma, a 20 yrs old girl of the Darchiks village, an abode of the Red Aryans race, near Batalik in Kargil District of Ladakh.
Kunjus Dolma suffered from a major misalignment of eyes, since birth. Despite being a bright student, this lowered her self confidence and affected her studies. The Tiger Hill Brigade under a humanitarian aid project named “Op Drishti”  took the girl to Pune for a major eye  surgery by a renowned Ophthalmologist.
The surgery was arranged with the help of the Commandant, General Hospital, Leh.  All administrative arrangements for move of Kunjus Dolma and her family to Pune were made by the Army.  The surgery was successfully conducted  and Kunjus Dolma  has been  cured completely with 100% parallel vision.
The General Officer Commanding, “Forever in Operations Division”, met and felicitated the girl.  He also complimented the efforts of the Tiger Hill Brigade in further strengthening the bond of friendship between the ‘Awam and the Jawan’.
The praiseworthy compliments were also received from all quarters of the civil administration including the Chief Executive Councilor of Kargil,  Asgar Ali Karbalai.
In addition to being the sentinel of the borders, the Army has brought cheer in the life of a hapless family – with no cost to the family and has also been a savior of the local populace on many occasions.
