SRINAGAR, June 29:  In a new endeavour in its efforts to empower the youth of Lolab, army’s 8 Sector Rashtriya Rifles (RR) along with 28 RR under the aegis of Kilo Force and Chinar Corps in collaboration with Mahindra Pride School conducted a free counseling, interview and enrollment program in the fields of hospitality, retail sales and Information Technology at Army Goodwill School in Krusan village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The aim of the program was to provide training, job opportunities and placement for youth with well known and established companies such as HCL, Dell, Infosys and other renowned hospitality enterprises.
This joint initiative was to motivate and identify the hidden talent of the youth and to subsequently provide them free training and job related exposure.
The event witnessed participation of 122 candidates, with great fervor and enthusiasm, from across the areas of Lolab Valley, Kandi and Magam.
87 were selected out of the 122 candidates after counseling and screening. The selected candidates will undergo 90 days training at Mahindra Pride School in Green Enclave Rajbagh, Srinagar from 3rd August onwards.
This was a major initiative to bring the youth closer to the mainstream and offer them high quality training and equip them to attain better living standards, he said.
Event like this involving youth in such constructive activities would help in channelizing their energy in a positive direction and will act as a formidable force in bringing ever lasting peace and prosperity to Lolab.
