RAJOURI, Apr 6: The Army has conducted an Inter-village Volleyball competition in the village situated alongside the Line of Control in Rajouri district here today.
The tournament was organised under the banner of the Hanjanwali battalion, the tournament brought together 10 villages to showcase their skills and teamwork. An entirely new Volleyball Court was constructed by the Army, not far away from the Line of Control for the conduct of this competition to cultivate a sporting spirit within the community.
According to Army’s official spokesperson, this initiative aims to identify and nurture young talents and provide them with a platform to hone and showcase their skills, in line with Khelo India’s vision. The competition also aims to start constructive conversations to raise Anti-Drug Awareness among children and youth who are a significant portion of the population living near the Line of Control.
It will be a weeklong tournament. Indian Army is sanguine that this tournament will take us a step ahead at contributing positively to the society in general and people of Rajouri in particular. It further strengthens its commitment to keep conducting such events in future too and keep engaging the residents and youth towards a shared nation building.
