Army holds Volleyball C’ship for LoC Youth

RAJOURI, June 18: Indian Army under the aegis of Ace of Spades Division has instituted a Volleyball Championship for villagers near Line of Control (LoC) this year in the run up to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas. The cup has been instituted in the memory of brave heart (Late Sep Hardeep Singh) who belonged to Lam and made the supreme sacrifice during Operation Vijay (Kargil) in the year 1999.
The local population including women and children witnessed enthusiastic participation by 16 teams from villages of Kalal, Gaucher, Bisali, Lam, Mangla, Nonial and Bhovani; all near the Line of Control.
The event organised by Tithwal Warriors, not only showcased the athletic prowess of the participants but also served as a heartfelt tribute to the heroes of the Kargil War and especially those who hail from the local areas in Narian and Nowshera. During the event Veer Naris of the Kargil War Heroes from the local area were also felicitated. By organizing such events, the Indian Army continues to inspire the nation, promoting a spirit of sportsmanship, community engagement and Patriotism.
