Srinagar, Oct 17: Army today said that it interacted with the orchardists working in apple orchards in Panzgom area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A defence spokesman said every passing day sees a more ready acceptance to the Army’s outreach initiatives which are aimed at return of peace, calm and normalcy in the Valley. He said the Army is urging people collectively and even individually to shun the path of unrest “which has only brought suffering”.
“Army at Panzgom today interacted with the farmers working in the apple orchards of Luswani and Wahibug where they were assured of Army’s assistance whenever required,” said the spokesman.
Similarly, the Army camps at Tral, Mondura and Rajpura also carried out ‘one on one’ interactions with the elderly and youth of Batnoor, Naogudim, Bugmar Gali, Bajwani, Chatragam Rajpura and Lalagam areas during which useful information on various skill development courses and other welfare activities being undertaken by the Army was also shared.
The people reciprocated positively and expressed happiness over the fast improving situation in the Valley and thanked the Army for its continuous efforts towards their wellbeing, the defence spokesman said.
