RAMBAN, Sept 22:  To celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Indo-Pak War 1965, 109 INF Battalion (TA) MARATHA LI in collaboration with Nirvana Academy, a regd. Cultural club organized essay, painting and quiz competitions in the School premises, here today.
The programme was supported by Bharatiya Vidya Mandir High School, Ramban.
Col Alex Mohan (Sena Medal) Commanding Officer Executive Officer, 109 INF Battalion (TA) MARATHA LI was the chief guest and  Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Ramban Zubaida Parveen was the guest of honor on the occasion, while chief patron of the School, Dr Mohan Lal Sharma and Headmaster Government Girls High School Ramban, Parshotam Singh Raju presided over the function.
The competition was adjudged by Major Naveen Pawar and Major Sandeep Singh.
A total of 115 students of 12 schools includes Government Higher Secondary School Ramban, Bharatiya Vidya Mandir High School, Chenab English Medium High School, National Academy, Kamal Academy, Nav Bharat Public School, Government City Middle School, Vishal Academy, Government Boys Middle School, New Convent Institute and Golden Era Public School besides Prayas Hemkrish Middle School participated in the daylong competition.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said such activities should be organized frequently so that the students get the right platform to display their talent in extra co-circular activities.
ZEO Ramban appreciated the efforts made by Indian Army and Nirvana Academy Organizing Secretary Ramban Tahir Mushtaq and Bharatiya Vidya Mandir High School for conducting such events and in future the Education Deptt will cooperate them in conducting such activities.

The first, second and third prizes in painting competition were won by Karan Vir, Sandhya Khajuria and Abdul Basit of class 5th all from New Convent Institute respectively whereas the consolation prize bagged by Muskan of 4th class from Golden Era Public School and Garima Khajuria of class 3rd from Vishal Academy.
In essay writing competition the first, second and third prizes were claimed by Aruna of class 7th from National Academy, Mrigakshi Khajuria of class 8th from Vishal Academy and Diksha of class 8th from Bharatiya Vidya Mandir High School respectively while the consolation prizes were given to Bhargav Gupta of class 6th and Palavi Rai of class 8th both from Bharatiya Vidya Mandir High School.
Similarly, in quiz competition the first prize was won by Ravi Team of Bharatiya VidyaMandir whereas second and third prizes were claimed by Chenab Team of National Academy and Jhelum Team of Government Higher Secondary School Ramban respectively.
The overall programme was ably anchored by Meenu Puri.
