Army organises ‘Awami Jalsa’

SRINAGAR, Feb 11:  To look after the populace of the Valley and constructively engage the youth, Army organized a multispectral “Awami Jalsa cum Medical Camp” at Hajin area of Bandipora district  in which more than 750 locals including students from various schools, colleges and villages participated.
An Army spokesman said that the venue turned out to be the hub of fun and frolic for students who enthusiastically participated in various games organized in the festival like Race, Sack Race, Triple Leg Race, Musical Chair, Lemon Spoon Race etc. A creativity counter was also set up for youth to know about various art forms and try them on the canvas.
“A Career Counseling Forum guided the youth in exploring the job opportunities in Armed Forces and other fields. A team of Army Doctors also carried out Medical Checkup and provided free medicines to the needy. Dance and song artists displayed their art fortes amusing the locals. Self defense demonstration was also organized with an aim to develop the interest of youth towards fitness activities as well as sensitizing them in self defense tactics,” he said.
