Army organises drawing, painting competition

JAMMU, Sept 11: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) organised drawing and painting competitions for children in Neakka, Daraba and Lower Krishna Ghati in Rajouri and Poonch districts, under the ongoing Operation Sadbhavana, today.
The aim of the competition was to increase their ability, discover their talent and to build a competitive environment amongst them.
Around 163 students from 8 schools participated in the competitions.
Army provided drawing sheets, water colours, sketch pens and crayons to all participating children.
The students took part in the competition with conspicuous enthusiasm and displayed their skills in drawing and painting.
Prizes were awarded to the students standing first, second and third, while consolation prizes were also given to all the other participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Bushan Kumar, Headmaster of Government Middle School, Neakka expressed his gratitude towards the Army for organizing such event in remote area.
