JAMMU, Sept 8: An ex-servicemen rally was organised at Kalakote in Rajouri district for the benefit of Ex-servicemen of Armed forces from Rajouri district. The rally was organised by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Budhal Sector Rashtriya Rifles and Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform).
The largely attended rally was inaugurated by Dr Rajendra Kumar Khajuria, SDM Nowshera. Many prominent personalities from civil administration also graced the rally by their presence, the noteworthy being Parshotam Lal Sharma, ASP Nowshera, Pardeep S Gouria, SDPO, Nowshera, major (Retd) RS Thakur, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Sunil Kumar Sharma, Branch Manager, J&K Bank, Kalakote, Tarsem Lal, Tehsildar, Kalakote, KD Bhagat, SHO Kalakote, Sub Major (Retd) Uttam Singh, president ESM committee, representatives from Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme Rajouri and Defence Pension Disbursement Officer.
Manager, District Industries Centre, Dr Musheer A Mirza, gave a lecture on scope of Industries and employment of genetic schemes.
District Officer Khadi and Village Industries Board, KH Chib, also gave a lecture on providing of employment under PMEG programme.
Departments of Fishery, Agriculture, Sericulture and many others including Nationalized banks put up their stalls to guide the Ex-servicemen regarding various schemes available to them.
Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Major (Retd) RS Thakur, presented an amount of Rs 48000 to nine Ex-servicemen for their daughters’ marriage. He also presented two sewing machines to the needy widows.
A medical camp was also organised on the occasion for the Ex-servicemen.
Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme Counter, Guidance Stall, Grievance Cell and Information Cell were also established for the Ex-servicemen.
