Army organises medical camp at Thanamandi

RAJOURI, Mar 12: Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, under Romeo Force conducted a ‘Mega Medical Camp’ for locals in the area of Thanamandi in Rajouri district, today.  The camp brought much required help of modern medical facilities to the locals.
The camp was inaugurated by Rajiv Sharma, Block Medical Officer Thannamandi in presence of other civil dignitaries, Sarpanch, numberdars and villagers. Rajiv Sharma said “This noble gesture by the Indian Army of providing medical care to the poor villagers in remote rural area will strengthen the bond between the AWAM and the Indian Army”.
During the camp Wheel Chairs, Hearing Aids, BP Machines, Glucometers and Artificial Limbs were provided. In addition to this, a blood donation camp was also organised in which large number of Army personals and locals donated blood for the noble cause. Civil medical authorities also provided adequate support in terms of qualified medical doctors.
The locals were educated about various diseases and prevention from them by placing charts on the issue of health.  About 600 patients including women and children were treated during the camp. A talk on health and hygiene was also conducted by the Medical Officer of the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion.
The close rapport between Army and Civil Administration, particularly medical department provided much deserved medical aid to the local population of Thanamandi and its adjoining areas.
