SRINAGAR, June 1: As part of week long “Inter School Cultural Festival 2015”, a painting competition was organized for schools of Baramulla district today by Army’s 46 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) under the aegis of Dagger Division.
The festival is aimed at giving exposure to the students of the town to a series of competitions and events including debate and quiz competitions which will also enhance competitive spirit amongst the youth.
The painting competition was based on the theme of “Power Conservation. An overwhelming participation was seen from nine different schools of Baramula, including those from Old Town, Delina, Uri and Boniyar.
A total of 140 students comprising of 21 teams participated in three different age categories.
The paintings depicted the concerns of the students towards conservation of electricity and economic use of power. Innovative ideas were flashed with colours personifying values to preserve energy. The schools have expressed their gratitude for organizing the event and have requested for continuation of similar activities in future as well.
The competition was part of overall inter-school competitions. The final results will be declared after culmination of all the activities on June 6.
