POONCH, Oct 8: Mendhar Gunners under the aegis of White Knight Corps organised a Volleyball tournament at Mendhar, here today.
The aim of the tournament was to motivate youth to take up sports as a profession and to inculcate the value of sportsmanship among them. The final match was played between Mendhar Club and Star Volleyball Club, wherein Mendhar Club emerged winner by 3-1 sets (25-12, 25-18, 17-25 & 25-23).
A total 11 teams of Mendhar and nearby villages participated in the tournament with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Commanding Officer of Mendhar Gunners and District Ex-Servicemen unit president, Shamim felicitated both the winner and runner-up teams.
