RAMBAN, Mar 1: To promote sports and health awareness among the youth of Banihal, Rashtriya Rifles Battalion based at Banihal under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force, Delta organized “Half Marathon” under Operation Sadbhavana.
The race was flagged off by Commander of the Rashtriya Rifles Sector based at Chanderkote, which saw participation of over 300 runners.
While speaking, Commander said that such events will create an atmosphere and harmony amongst the youth and extended his support for organizing such popular events in future as well.
Cash prizes were given to the first four participants and over hundred t-shirts were distributed as consolation prizes to all participants.
The participants said that this unique effort from the Army will certainly encourage more participation in all sports activities amongst the youth.
The event was witnessed by large number of people including old and young ones, which marked the success and popularity of the event.
