Army organizes lecture on skill development courses

POONCH, May 17: A lecture on skill development courses by Modular Employable Skills was conducted by Army here at Lower Krishna Ghati.
The lecture was aimed at development of indigenous entrepreneurship from all walks of life for developing new micro and small enterprises, enlarging the entrepreneurial base and encouraging self employment in rural as well as urban areas, by providing training to youth.
It is also visualized that in the long run, the skilled youth of J&K will empower the “Make in India” initiative of the Government of India and join the main stream of development.
The district of Poonch will be the first beneficiary of the six skill development courses such as Hand Embroidery, Motor Driving-cum-Vehicle Mechanic, Plumbing, Carpentry, Computer and Farming courses.
These courses have been short listed after a deliberate study of demography of Poonch district. All these courses are planned to run in a phased manner over a period of one year in collaboration with various State Government departments.
