Army organizes medical camps

SRINAGAR, Dec 29: Army today said it organized medical camps in South Kashmir districts of Anantnag and Kulgam.
A defence spokesman said that a mobile medical camp was organized in Macho and Wawripora villages of Anantnag district in collaboration with civil authorities. He said the aim of the mobile camp was to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility in the region and to give a healing touch to the local populace.
“Minor and common ailments were effectively addressed by medical team of the Army. People enthusiastically approached the team and were overwhelmed by this unique camp,” he said. The defence spokesman said those with major problems have been advised to visit nearest Army hospital for the check up.
“This welcome step was appreciated by everyone and this has instilled a wave of harmony and healing touch in the adjoining areas,” he added.
Another medical and veterinary camp was organized by army at Alamgunj in Kulgam district.
The defence spokesman said: “The initiative was a part of Army effort to provide the basic amenities at doorsteps to the locals. Yesterday a team of specialist doctors including a lady doctor from Army and Health Department worked together selflessly and benefited more than 800 people of adjoining area”.
“An overwhelming response was seen especially from women and girls of the area. A lady doctor conducted lecture on personal hygiene, nutrition, small family norms, maternal and child care,” he added.
