JAMMU, Jan 19: Indian Army organised a ‘Know Your Forces’ Mela for the local youth and school children of Akhnoor Tahsil.
An array of weapons and equipment from tanks to guns including surveillance equipment was displayed at the Mela site. A military pipe band played martial music and a dog show by the Army dogs enthralled the children.
About 1500 school children, 500 civilians, eight schools and two Degree colleges attended the colourful event. The event allowed for an informal interaction between the military and the civil administration including SDM and SDPO Akhnoor.
The initiative has motivated the local youth to know more about the Indian Army and take up the noble profession of Armed Forces.
