Army organizes T20 Cricket Championship at GDC Bhadarwah

BHADARWAH, Oct 6: Continuing with its efforts for upliftment of local youths of the area by providing an opportunity to showcase their skill and talent, the Rashtriya Rifles located at Bhadarwah, under the aegis of the Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) is organising ‘T20 Cricket Championship’ at Govt Degree College, Bhadarwah in collaboration with Youth Combined Cricket Club, here.
The Championship got underway today in an impressive, colourful and well attended opening ceremony.
DDC Doda, Mubarak Singh was the chief guest, while Commanding Officer of Rashtriya Rifles at Bhadarwah was the guest of honour on the occasion.
50 cricket teams drawn from Bhadarwah town and other districts are participating in the Championship.  The districts included Srinagar, Anantnag, Ramban, Banihal, Doda, Kishtwar, Jammu, besides a Jammu and Kashmir Police team.
Zaheer Khan co-organizer remarked that youth are valuable asset of the nation who need peaceful and congenial atmosphere to nurture their abilities and Army besides its professional duties has always remained on forefront to help the youth in refining their talents.
Meanwhile, in the first match played today, Islamia Banihal defeated Farid Ghat by a big margin, while in another match, Shaheed Manjeet Singh Club got better of Furqan Ghat in an easy contest.
