Army organizes Trekking-cum-Skiing Adventure Camp

JAMMU, Mar 11: Trekking-cum-Skiing Adventure Camp in the picturesque environment of the famous Sinthan Maidan, South of Pir Panjal Ranges, organized by Army concluded, today.
The 15-day Adventure Camp that had commenced on February 23, 2014 for the troops of Rashtriya Rifles and the civilians in Kishtwar included training on Skiing, Snow Craft competitions including Slalom and Snow Volleyball.
The high degree of expertise in Skiing achieved by participants in such a short span reflected their enthusiasm and zeal.
The idea behind this camp was to showcase Sinthan Maidan as a potential Skiing destination.
The presence of gentle and undulating slopes which amass eight to ten feet of snow during winters is a bliss which can rejuvenate winter tourism industry in this region.
The camp gave locals a reason to smile and look forward with hope of changing their lives for good.
