Army organizes Volleyball Championship

BHADERWAH, Oct 23: To promote local sporting talent and to provide a platform to young talent in sports activities, Rashtriya Rifles (RR) unit of Indian Army based at Bhadarwah organized 2 days ‘Chenab Valley Volleyball Championship, here today.
The event is being  organized at Sports ground of Government Higher Secondary School Boys Bhadarwah, in which 11 teams from different clubs of District Doda are participating.
During the inaugural function, Principal Annie Kotwal was the chief guest who inaugurated the Championship, while Captain RR presided over the function. NCC Officer Arif Rana was the special invite, who also acted as Commentator.
While speaking on the occasion, NCC Officer Arif Rana thanked the Indian Army for organising this Championship and appreciated them for their contribution to the society especially to boost the morale of youth.
Chief guest ,Annie Kotwal encouraged the players to maintain proper game spirit, which can fulfil their dream to excell in the sports they are passionate about.
The inaugural match was played between Ganai Volleyball Club and Channi Delta Club, which was won by Ganai Volleyball Club by 2:1 games.
Captain RR expressed his gratitude to the chief guest , staff and the people present for making the event a success.
People and the players appreciated the Army for its initiative to organize such event to involve the young generation.
The final match will be played at 10 am tomorrow.
