Army organizes Volleyball league

Poonch, Jan 13: Indian Army organized an Open Volleyball tournament for boys and girls at Pritam Stadium, here today in collaboration with the District unit of the Sports Council.
The tournament commenced on January 12 in which eight teams of boys and five teams of girls are participating in the tournament. The chief guest on this occasion was Narjeet Singh, Silver Medalist (Retd ZPEO). The tournament is held under the overall supervision of Nirdosh Kumar Sharma I/C Manager Sports Stadium Poonch.
The matches were officiated by Neeraj Sharma qualified Volleyball Coach (VFI Referee) Shafqat Shah, DK Sharma, Davinder Singh, Sachin Sharma, Ajaz Ahmed, Sabar Mohi ud Din (Sports Council). Others who witnessed matches were Navjot Singh, Khelo India Hockey Coach, Ram Parkash Ground Incharge, Mushtaq Ahmed Senior Boxing Coach, Zakir Hussain Junior Assistant and Prem Parkash Luthra (Retd DSO).
The results of the matches were Manjeet Singh Volleyball Club beat Klai Volleyball Club by 2-0 sets. In the Ist Semifinal played between Pinto Club and Chandak Club in which Chandak Club beat Pinto Club by 3-1 sets while in the 2nd Semifinal Manjeet Singh Volleyball Club and Jallian Club (Mandi) in which Manjeet Singh Volleyball Club beat Jallian by 3-0.
