REASI, June 15: In an effort to integrate the local youth with the national mainstream and to promote the spirit of sportsmanship amongst the local populace residing in the far flung areas, the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, based at Kalal, organised a volleyball tournament in Villages Kalsiyan, Bhajnowa and Deeing of District Reasi, under the aegis of Counter Insurgency force (Uniform), which concluded here today.
The aim of the tournament was to provide a platform and give fillip to the locals to showcase their talent.
The competition was organized for all 24 panchayats falling in the area of the Battalion, wherein a total of 14 teams participated in the tournament with great zeal and enthusiasm.
All the teams performed commendably and medals were awarded to the winners and runners up teams at all the locations of three villages.
Most of the villagers turned up to witness the matches and supported their respective teams.
