Army’s three days Banihal Youth Festival commences

RAMBAN, May 14: Three day Banihal Youth Festival by Indian Army commenced at Banihal Helipad with much pomp and show.
The main event of the day was ‘Banihal’s Got Talent’ wherein a number of young showcased their talent as singers, dancers, painters, comedians, stunt performers in solo and group events.
The festival’s opening day ceremony also brought together the youth power to showcase the integrity and unity of the country by the National Integration rally marching from Banihal Market to Helipad Banihal.
The event got added colours by the mesmerizing performance by two times National Champion Orissa Dance Group followed by even more energetic Bhangra dance by Indian Army team and a rare performance by multiple Military Bands which ignited the patriotic fervor amongst the spectators.
The day’s events were concluded by mystical musical instruments played by Peaceful Musical Group from Srinagar.
The local NGOs used the opportunity to create employment awareness amongst the youth in academia as well as IT sectors apart from various self employment schemes of Government.
Among those who were present on the inaugural day were Colonel S Chaterjee, SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq, SHO Banihal NA Dar, Principal HSS Banihal, ZEO Banihal KK Raina, Retd Principal and Poet Manshoor Banihali, Dr Khalid Rasool, National Conference leader Sajad Shaheen, JKNPP leader Seva Singh Bali, Youth Congress leader Mohammad Ilyas Banihali, AR Giri, etc.
