Art of Living celebrates birthday of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

JAMMU, May 13: Birthday of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a renowned spiritual Guru and the founder of International Art of Living Foundation, was celebrated with gaiety and fervour all over the country today.
The Art of Living – Jammu organised several programmes, in tune with the organisation ideology of Sadhna, Seva and Satsang, to commemorate the occasion. A mesmerising concert of divine music was organised in the evening at Abhinav Theatre, which was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life. Besides, a small meditation session including performance by Nitin Davar, a renowned singer, who kept the gathering enchanted with his rendition of blissful bhajans.
Earlier, Sudershan Kriya- a rthymic breathing exercise evolved by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, was organised at all five happiness centres of AoL in the city, which was also attended by a large number of followers of the revered Guru. The volunteers of Art of Living also put up a chabeel and organised a langar at Indira Chowk and Sanjay Nagar.
Volunteers of AoL visited SOS Home and Old Age Home and distributed food and sweets to the inmates. The volunteers of Art of Living from Udhampur district distributed 80 umbrellas to the students of Bal Ashram Udhampur as part of Sewa Activity.
Similar events were also organised at Kathua, Bani & Udhampur to mark the birth celebrations of the revered Guru. A musical evening was also organised at Kathua where Mihir Ji rendered blissful bhajans in the glory of the Almighty.
In Jammu another function was held by devotees of Art of Living family in the city in which a large number of people participated. The devotees also organised a Shabeel and Vishal bhandara on the occasion.
Subash Kumar Shastri and Neelam the coordinators of the programme threw light on the recently held world cultural conference in New Delhi. They said this event was instrumental in presenting our ancient teachings on peace to the entire world.
Among the main dignitaries who attended the programme included Acharya Shiv Prasad Raina, president Acharya Abhinav Gupt Millennium Celebrations Committee, J&K, M K Sharma, M M Sharma, Baldev Khullar president Raghunath Bazar Traders Association, Shakti Devi SHO, Jammu City, Ravi Puri Secretary Red Cross Society Jammu etc.
Another function was organised at Nagrota camp by the devotees of Art of Living in collaboration with Vitasta Samaj Sewa led by Chand Ji Kher. During the function bhajan -Kirtan was also performed and prashad was served to devotees.
