JAMMU, July 31: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has reiterated its demand that Article 35A should be abrogated as it was leading to deprivation of rights of women, Dalits, and West Pakistan refugees settled in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued here today he said it was leading to separatist movement, self-rule movement and gave rise to demand for greater autonomy in the State. It was detrimental for Jammu and Kashmir youths due to lack of industrialization and lack of higher education that led leading unemployment in the Sate, Kashmiri added.
Kashmiri, while strongly supporting the abrogation of Article 35–A and Article 370, stated that the people who are raising hue and cry about safeguarding this Article know it very well that this is a temporary provision and it can be revoked with a stroke of pen at any time. He stated that Kashmiri separatists are trying to build lot of pressure over the Government of India to use its influence to put Article 35-A into cold storage, which provides special rights to people of J&K. They have already called for a two-day shutdown in the Valley to begin with and have threatened to stir unrest if the Article is scrapped. But the Government should not pay any heed to them as they have been in habit of blackmailing India for last 70 years for their vested interests.
While further supporting those who have launched a movement for abrogation of Article 35 A,  Kashmiri appealed Government of India to take a firm decision once for all so that single law prevails in entire nation as was dreamt by late Jana Sangh founder, Dr Shayama Prashad Mookherjee.
Kashmir said that if the followers of late leader who are in Government can’t take a bold decision on Article 35 -A and 370 giving special Constitutional status to the State then no one else can do it and this is the testing time for BJP to act.
