JAMMU, Sept 16: Third Day of ‘Display Your Talent-2015-16’ organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, witnessed organization of four events, including Light Vocal Solo, Sketching, Poetry Recitation and Photography.
Prof Jasbir Singh, Provost Boys Hostel, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. Dean Students Welfare, Prof Pankaj K. Srivastava, Chairperson Campus Culture Committee, Prof K K Sharma and various faculty members and office bearers of the University of Jammu were present during the events.
In Light Vocal Solo, 35 students participated in which Sonali Dogra from Govt. College for Women Parade stood first, Susmita Banerjee from Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar was declared Second and Vishakha Bhardwaj from Govt. College for Women Gandhi Nagar and Shivi Badyal from Govt. Degree College, Udhampur were declared Third. Certificate of Merit was awarded to Vishal Pandita from Govt. MAM College. Sham Sajan, Balbeer Chand Beera and Neelu Varinder were the Judges for the event and Dr. Rakesh Vaid was the Teacher In-Charge for the event
In Sketching, 30 students participated. Shubham Dogra from Yogananda College of Eduction stood First. Palvi Gujral from Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar and Urvashi Sharma from ICCCR & HRM, JU stood Second and Hemant Magotra from Department of Commerce, JU stood Third. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Dimple Kumar and Rahul Dogra from Institute of Music and Fine Arts. Bhushan Kesar, Vijay Anand and Dheeraj Nanda were the Judges for the event and Dr. Rajwant Kaur was the Teacher In-charge.
Thirty one students participated in Photography, the topics given were Unity, Diversity, Light & Shadow. Aseem Sharma from MBS College of Engineering & Technology was declared First. Amit Singh Sarmal from GCET, Jammu stood Second and Suhaib Salman from The Law School, JU stood Third. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Simranpreet Singh from Govt. MAM College and Deva Sharma from Institute of Music and Fine Arts. Arvind Gupta and Nitish Arora were the Judges and Dr. Harish Chander was the Teacher In-charge for the event.
Fifty students participated in Poetry Recitation. Deepak Gupta from The Law School, JU, Hemant Vaid from The Department of History, JU were declared First and Second respectively. The Third position was shared by Harsha Khanuja from GCW, Parade and Meenakshi Sharma from Department of Geography, JU. Certificates of merit were awarded to Neena Parihar from GDC Doda and Sofia Akhtar from Department of Chemistry, JU. Arsh Sehbai, Prof. K.B. Razdan and Dr. Aruna Sharma were the judges, while Dr. Rajni Bala was the Teacher Incharge for the event.
The events were coordinated by Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor) and Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer). Surbhi Chalotra, Hempreet Kaur, Sunakshi Sharma, Suneedhi Sharma, Puneet Kour, Sahil Sharma, Anum Khan, Tabassum Inqlabi, Sonam Sharma and Sahil Sharma, did the Hall Management. The sound was operated by Kulbhushan Thakur.
