Jammu, Sept 17: Artists showed composure, class and promise on the fourth day of ‘Display Your Talent-2015-16’, organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, two competitions-Classical Instrumental and Creative Dance were conducted at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Pankaj K Srivastava, Dr AR Manhas (Assistant Dean Students Welfare), Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Dr. Savita Nayyar, Dr. Meghna Dhar, Dr. Monika Sethi and various faculty members and office bearers of the University of Jammu were present during the events.
In Classical Instrumental (Percussion), Shubham Sharma and Amit Anand from Institute of Music and Fine Arts were declared first and second respectively. The third prize was won by Simrandeep Kaur from Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar. In Classical Instrumental (Non-Percussion), Mithlesh Wanchoo from ASCOMS stood first, Ashish Kumar from Institute of Music and Fine Arts was declared second and Monisha Paudwal from GCW Gandhi Nagar claimed third spot. Usha Bagati, Sami Feroz and Raj Kumar Dogra were the Judges for the event and Dr. B K Bajaj was the Teacher In-Charge for the event.
In Creative Dance, 30 students participated in which themes like ‘Respect for Women’ ‘Acid Attacks’ ‘Patriotism’ ,‘Plight of Birds’ etc were presented by the participants. Nistha Mahajan and Sushmita Banerjee from GCW, Gandhi Nagar were declared First and Second respectively. Third Position was secured by Nidhi Kumari from GCW, Parade. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Nancy Sharma from Trikuta College of Computer Sc & Mgt. Studies and Ashima Sharma from GCW, Parade. Randhir Kumar, Satish Chander and Poonam Handa were the Judges for the event and Dr. Madhulika Bhagat was the Teacher In-charge.
The events were coordinated by Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor) and Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer). Surbhi Chalotra, Hempreet Kaur, Kamini, Darpandeep Kaur, Abhishek Sharma, Simrandeep Singh, Suneedhi Sharma, Puneet Kour and Archana Sharma did the Hall Management. The sound was operated by Kulbhushan Thakur.
