Arun declares open soccer tournament

JAMMU, Dec 10: The son of soil, Arun Malhotra inaugurated the Football tournament of CBSE Rajasthan Cluster at Presidency International School Bhiwadi in Rajasthan, today.
The school is doing exceptionally well in the sports field and produced a great talent in various fields, said Malhotra while addressing the gathering after inauguration. “Sunil Chettri, captain Indian footballer, is an alumnus of the same school,” he said.
In this tournament more than 100 teams are participating. Malhotra also spoke at length about the importance of sports as a permanent feature in extracurricular activities. He emphasised on the management to have a separate institution for the game of football with all facilities including play ground so that a good talent like Sunil Chettri is produced who shall bring laurels to the country.
Speaking to local news agencies when asked how he thinks to revive football in Jammu, Malhotra responded that it is high time that football tournaments in school/college level and even university level be started forth with much that is needed to be done in reviving football.
He also appealed to all the stakeholders, footballers/ coaches, management to come forward and start football activities. “One should not always wait for the Government to organise tournaments, we all must take it on our shoulders that football must not stop,” he added.
Asked about non availability of licence holder coaches in schools, Malhotra has assured that let the schools chalk out policy for permanent football activities, the licence holder and well skilful coaches will be made available by our team.
He further said, “We can jointly change the present scenario of football and produce talent of higher standard in the country.”
Arun Malhotra thanked the School Principal and administration for giving a platform to youth, so that they can excel in their game and to represent the country in times to come.
