KC Sports Club emerges winner of inaugural match

JAMMU, Nov 8: President of Indian Cricket Association (ICA), Ashok Malhotra inaugurated virtually 8th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Championship, being organised by members of ICA in association with KC Sports Club at KC Sports Club Ground, here today.
The championship is being supported by Horizon Club, Game Changer Sports Club, Samar Sports Club, Vridhi Royals and JK Service Station Rajouri at KC Sports Club Cricket Ground Jammu.
In the opening match KC Sports Club defeated Media XI by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Media XI scored 71 runs by losing all wickets. Vivek Suri made 21 runs while Faheem Tak scored 19 runs. From the bowling side, Vivek took 4 wickets, Akash Choudhary and Tanmay took 2 wickets each.
In reply, the KC Sports Club chased the target in just nine overs by losing only 3 wickets. Musaif scored 33 runs and Vicky Raina made 29 runs. From the bowling side, Rajesh took 2 wickets while Faheem took 1 wicket. Vivek Sharma of KC Sports Club was declared as Man of the Match.
The 2nd match resulted in tie between Game Changer XI and Vridhi Club as both the teams made 133 runs but the organisers of the tournament decided to make decision for this match after completion of other league match of this pool. The matches were officiated by Ashok Kumar, Sanju and Sabestian.
The chief guest said that the hard work and commitment were the only mantra to achieve success in every field. He advised the Jammu cricketers to work hard and try to find their place in national teams.
Ashvinder Koul and Rajesh Gill both members of ICA were the guests of honour while Arjun Choudhary Managing Partner KC Sports Club, Qaiser Mirza, Rakesh Koul, Sudhir Singh, Rajesh Bakshi, Avinash Kumar and Saleem Ur Rehman were also present during the event.
The slogan of the 8th Eid Diwali Milan Cricket Championship is “Let’s celebrate all festivals together and let’s strive for communal harmony and oneness”.
The guest of honour also released the fixture of the championship.
