JAMMU, May 11: Senior Congress leader and former legislator Ashok Sharma has demanded establishment of a Degree College at Taryath and Polytechnic at Kalakote.
Addressing a meeting at Taryath, Mr Sharma also urged for launching special recruitment drive for youth of Kalakote constituency in Police and Central para military forces besides tapping vast tourism potential of both the borders district of Rajouri and Poonch on fast track basis for speedy economic development of the area and generating employment avenues.
Mr Sharma discussed in detail the modalities for organizing a 3-day training camp for the volunteers of Rahul Gandhi Youth Brigade which would be held at Taryath from May 17 to 19, 2014. More than 100 youth from Taryath and adjoining areas would be imparted training in regard to eradication of social evil, conservation of environment and ecology, high importance of afforestation, strengthening communal harmony, brotherhood and secular ethos.
Among others who attended the meeting included Kashmir Singh, Ch Noor Hussain, Bhagat Ram, Chaman Lal, Capt Pashori Lal, Pyara Lal, Ram Lal, Shakti Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Hans Raj and Subash Chander.
