*KTLCC, JCC emerge victorious

JAMMU, May 8: Two cricket matches were played on the second day of the Ashok Sodhi Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament here today.
KT Lions Cricket Club (KTLCC) and Jaguar Cricket Club (JCC) performed brilliantly and won their respective matches. Now both the teams have reached the semi-finals which will be played tomorrow at the Parade Ground.
During the first match, Crime Branch Special Wing, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sandeep Mehta was the Chief Guest who met players of both the teams. Sandeep Mehta also appreciated Press Club of Jammu for organizing a Cricket Tournament in the Memory of Photo Journalist Ashok Sodhi. He said that these types of sports competitions are very important for the youth. In the second match, Superintendent of Police (SP) City North, Jammu Shivam Siddharth met both the teams and asked the youth to participate more in sports activities.
In the first match, Jammu Sports Veterans posted a total of 168 runs; with Rahul Datta as the top-scorer. However, KT Lions chased down the target in just 16.4 overs, losing only two wickets in the process. Vikas Lakhotra was the star of the show, scoring 61 runs and earning the Man of the Match award.
In the second match, Lions Cricket Club batted first and scored 171 runs, thanks to Nikhil’s 53 runs. Nitin and Rahul took two wickets each. However, Jaguars Cricket Club emerged victorious, winning the match by two wickets. Gurmeet was the standout performer, scoring 39 runs and taking one wicket, while Dhoni contributed 20 runs and Marcous took two wickets. Gurmeet was declared as Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
