Ashutosh shines as Jammu wins U-19 Cricket C’ship

JAMMU, Sept 27: Jammu District triumphed in the Under-19 Inter-District Championship organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Khel Gaon, Nagrota. The match began with Udhampur District winning the toss and elected to bowl first.
Aashutosh Mahajan emerged as the standout player for Jammu, scoring an impressive 80 runs off 40 balls, which included 10 fours and 2 sixes. Prabjot contributed significantly with 42 runs, helping Jammu District set a total of 171 runs in 20 overs. For Udhampur, Takshadeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 2 wickets.
In response, Udhampur District struggled to chase the target, managing only 110 runs before losing all 10 wickets. The Jammu bowling attack was led by Armaan, who took 3 wickets, while Sagar, Sujal,and Shourya claimed 2 wickets each.
Aashutosh Mahajan’s stellar performance earned him the titles of Man of the Match and Best Batsman of the tournament. The Jammu District team is coached by Pankaj and Payal Sharma. This victory marks a significant achievement for Jammu District in youth cricket.
