PATIALA, Aug 3:
With a view to promoting Sikh martial art ‘Gatka’ at the international level, the Asian Gatka Federation (AGF) will organise its first Gatka Cup in February next year in Malaysia.
This was disclosed here by AGF President Surinderpal Singh during the concluding ceremony of three day national Gatka refresher course held at Punjabi University here.
Addressing the Gatka referees, coaches and technical officials, Singh said that ‘World Gatka Federation’ and ‘Asian Gatka Federation’ has already constituted more than three dozen federations in different countries and organised national level Gatka events in Nepal, UK, Canada, USA.
“Dates for this event will be announced shortly after a meeting with Malaysian Gatka Federation”, he said. (AGENCIES)
