Asiya Andrabi remanded to 8 day police custody

SRINAGAR, Oct 1:  A local court today remanded chairperson Dukhtaran-e-Millat Asiya Andrabi to eight days police custody in connection with a case registered against her at Police Station Nowhatta in 2009.
Advocate Mir Shafaqat Hussain, representing Asiya , said that she was produced before the court today and the court remanded her to eight days police remand in 2009 case.
It is after she was ordered to be released on bail by Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar yesterday; police declined to release her and detained her in another FIR No. 57 of 2009 under section 3/25 Arms Act registered in Police Station Nowhatta in 2009.
She was granted bail by CJM court in a case registered against her for addressing a rally organized by Jam’at-u-Dawa Chief in Pakistan over phone last month.
The court while granting bail to her  had said that she shall not leave the state without proper permission and will attend each and every date of hearing in the case (FIR 87/2015) registered against her in Police Station Soura under Unlawful Activities Act.
This is for the second time in less than a week that she was admitted to bail. On last Thursday, First Additional Session Judge Madan Lal had ordered her release in connection with a case for hoisting Pakistani flag on country’s Independence Day here on August 14.
