ASKPC activists protest in front of Governor’s House

JAMMU, Dec 22: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) activists held a demonstration in front of Governor’s House here today to draw attention of the Central and State Governments towards the demands of displaced Pandits.
The protestors shouted slogans in support of separate homeland for KPs within Kashmir valley. Later a memorandum highlighting the problems of the displaced Pandits was presented to Governor.
Addressing the protestors H L Chatta president ASKPC accused the Government of its total failure in declaring the migrants as internally displaced people, accord refugee and minority status to them.
He demanded three percent reservations in the State and Central Governments jobs for community members, two seats each in two houses of legislature and one seat each in two Houses of Parliament.
Swami Kumar Ji appealed the community to remain united and fight against the systematic erosion of left out signs and symbols of Pandits in Valley while R K Raina senior vice president ASKPC asked the community to be ready for a decisive battle.
Veena Gurtoo demanded scrapping of stringent conditions from PM’s employment package while D N Kissu another senior leader expressed concern over encroachment of the land of Hindu shrines. Bharat Bushan, Shiban Khebri, Subash Chatta, Prof S K Bhat, Chand Ji Khar, Ashok Dhar, B L Handoo and Ravi Raina addressed the demonstration.
