ASKPC for solving other burning issues of displaced Pandits

JAMMU, June 9: Advocate Ravinder Raina, president All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference, (ASKPC) while appreciating the enhanced relief for Kashmiri & some Jammu migrants, announced by the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, demanded that the Central Government should take concrete measures for the security & rehabilitation of the border migrants, lest the same fate befalls them as has happened to the Kashmiri Pandit community, both victims of Pakistani aggressive manipulations. However, he also stressed on solving the major burning issues of the exiled KP community.
Advocate Raina demanded that the Government should take cognisance of the fact that its officials are working at variance to Government proclaimed policies and rendering any efforts, to bring the KP community back to Kashmir. The State Government officials have brazenly dismantled the Dharamshalla at Trehgam, Nagbal district Kupwara. Under patronage of the Government agencies, some majority community members have encroached upon the land belonging to Shri Jwala Ji Asthapan at Khrew. It appears the State Government is bent upon exterminating the last few remnants of Kashmiri Pandit identity & beliefs, to once for all close the chapter of their return to the land of their birth.
He demanded that the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir should immediately proceed with statutory action against the Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts, who are legal custodians of the KP property under the Migrant Property Act.
Does the Government wait for these overaged youth of the community to follow the path of stone pelters? He hoped the Union Home Minister would at least interact with the community representatives to know about their grievances and initiate measures to mitigate the same.
Raina emphasised that 28 years of exile for the community should weigh heavily on the conscience of nationalist & secular elements, who should give a concrete shape to the return of the community to the Valley with safety & dignity.
