Asraria Club, Zakir XI log wins in Gufran T20

DODA, June 2: Asraria Cricket Club Kishtwar and Zakir Eleven Doda prevailed over Usman Cricket Club Bhaderwah and Madhya Pradesh Heroes to advance in the ongoing All India 9th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship, being organized by Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda at Sports Stadium, here.
The Tournament is being sponsored by J&K Bank, Bajaj Allianz and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
Earlier, in the first match, Asraria Cricket Club Kishtwar defeated Usman Cricket Club Bhaderwah by 6 wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, Usman Cricket Club Bhaderwah scored a meagre total of 85 runs by losing 9 wickets. Sadam scored 23 runs, while Riaz contributed 19 runs to the total. From Asraria Cricket Club Kishtwar, Yasir and Fidda took 2 wickets each.
Asraria Cricket Club Kishtwar chased the target in just 10.3 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. Arshad contributed 27 runs, while Akhter chipped in with 16 runs. From Usman Cricket Club, Rakesh took 2 wickets, while Jahangir claimed one. Arshad of Asraria Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his best batting performance.
In the second match Zakir Eleven Doda drubbed Madhya Pradesh Heroes by 9 wickets. Batting first, Madhya Pradesh Heroes scored a total of 70 runs by losing 6 wickets. Anubhav Tiwari scored 17 runs, while Goli Sardar contributed 22 runs for his team. From Zakir XI Doda, Abid Nabi and Salman shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, Zakir XI chased the target in just 6.1 overs by losing one wicket to win the match by 9 wickets. Abid Nabi was the highest scorer from Zakir XI who scored 49 runs, while Fazal Tak contributed 11 runs for his team. From Madhya Pradesh Heroes, Rajdeep claimed the lone wicket. Abid Nabi was declared as man of the match for his all-round performance.
Mohd Saleem Ganai, Branch Manager Bajaj Allianz Ddoa was the chief guest on the occasion who presented man of the match award to Abid.
The match was officiated by Ranji Trophy Umpire Amit Bansal and Sanjay Singh while Rinku Bhadouriya acted as scorer.
