JAMMU, Sept 11: Nine athletes were selected to represent the State in 31st North Zone Junior Athletics Championship 2019 to be held at Sangrur (Punjab) on September 14 and September 15, 2019.
The team was selected after the Screening Committee of Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council conducted screening of the team under the overall supervision of Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer (J) in the presence of Sharat Chander Singh, General Secretary J&K Athletics Association, Satish Gupta, Manager Indoor Stadium and Ramesh Sharma Senior Athletics Coach.
The team will leave for the venue tomorrow.
It is pertinent to mention here that the State team had won 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals in this Championship last year.
The Team: Arti Devi, Tanushi Sharma, Vasu Sopolia, Sourav Singh, Arya Mahajan, Nikhil Kumar, Abrar Choudhary, Jugraj Singh and Shamini Devi.
Ramesh Sharma and Gurucharan Singh will accompany the team as escorts.
