SAMBA, May 28: Athletes showed promise and composure in the Inter-Zonal Athletic Meet for Under-14 and Under-17 girls, being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Samba at Maharaja Suchet Singh Stadium, here.
The Meet was held under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and under the overall supervision of Sunil Kumar, DYSSO Jammu.
In Under-14 Shot Put, Suneha Devi won gold and Sumiti Jasrotia bagged silver, while in High jump, Kajal Devi clinched gold and Arti Devi claimed silver.
Kamya Devi bagged gold in Under-14 girls Discus Throw and Aslesha Dalpatia claimed silver.
In Long Jump, Rashmi Devi and Nitika Attri bagged gold and silver respectively.
In Under-17 girlds, High Jump Sonia Devi won gold and Ritu Sharma claimed silver, while in Shot Put, the gold and silver medals went to Ritika and Himani Gupta and in Discus Throw, Ritika and Sweety won gold and silver respectively.
In Javelin Throw, Tisha Angural won gold and Meenakshi Devi bagged silver, while in Long Jump, the gold and silver medals went to Kavita Anuragi and Salleshi Devi.
Samriti Devi and Arya Sharma clinched gold and silver in Under-17 girls Triple Jump.
