JAMMU, Nov 19: Jumping a height of 1.45 meters, Nikhil Chopra of Jammu division bagged Under-17 boys high jump gold in the State Level Inter-Division Athletic Meet, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), under the patronage of its Director General, Navin Aggarwal, here.
The Meet which concluded here today, was held under the chairmanship of Ved Prakash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports and under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram, DYSSO Jammu.
In 1500 mtrs Under-17 boys, Mehmood Ahmed of Jammu division bagged gold, while in 3000 mtrs Under-17 boys, Parveen Kumar of Jammu division won gold.
In 200 mtrs Under-17 boys, Shakeel Ahmed of Kashmir division bagged gold, while in discus throw Under-17 boys, Adil Rafiq of Kashmir division claimed gold. The gold medal in javelin throw Under-17 boys went to Junaid-ul-Haq of Kashmir division.
Meanwhile, in 2000 mtrs Under-14 boys, Ravneet Singh of Jammu division bagged gold, while in high jump Under-14 boys, Arjun Kumar of Jammu division claimed gold and the discus throw Under-14 boys gold went to Arshid Ahmed of Kashmir division.
In javelin throw Under-19 boys, Mushtaq Ahmed of Jammu division clinched 1500 mtrs Under-19 boys gold, while Bahardin of Jammu division bagged discus throw Under-19 boys gold and Mohd Imran Khan of Kashmir division won gold in 3000 Under-19 boys.
Pardeep Sharma of Jammu division bagged high jump Under-19 boys gold, while 4×400 mtrs Under-19 boys gold went to Jammu division.
