Attempt of bovine smuggling foiled

UDHAMPUR, July 4: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued four animals, which were being smuggled in two vehicles towards Kashmir valley.
Acting on reliable information, a Police party from Police Station Chenani laid a surprise naka near Chenani- Domil and intercepted two Tata Mahindra vehicles, bearing registration number JK02BP-3056 and JK21C-5417. During thorough search, the each vehicle was found loaded with two bovine animals.
Police rescued the animals and arrested drivers of both the vehicles, who were identified as Abdul Rashid, son of Abdul Gani of Matra Ramban and Abdul Rafiq son of Mohamed Kazi of Beli Charna Jammu.
Police also seized both the vehicles and registered a case in this connection under section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act at Police Station Chenani.
