KATRA, Aug 1: Katra Police today foiled another attempt of liquor smuggling to the holy town and arrested a bootlegger besides seizure of 37 poly pouches of liquor from his possession.
Acting on a specific information, Police team, headed by SHO Katra, Inspector Arvind Sambyal, laid a special naka at Balini and intercepted the accused, namely Ishfaq Mohd of village Dasanoo, Reasi, who was on way towards holy town Katra.
During checking of the accused, Police recovered 37 poly pouches, measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor from his possession. Police arrested the accused and seized the recovered liquor besides registering a case under section 48-A Excise Act, 188/RPC.
