Autonomy of Cultural Academy

Sir,
Reference “Restoring autonomy of Cultural Academy” DE July 4, 2012.
Another important issue relating to an appropriate amendment in the Academy’s Constitution, raised by me is surprisingly missing in this reporting. Actually unlike the Centre, and few States in the country who have three seperate Akademis, ours is three in one. And for which only two members in the Central Committee as also in the General Council from Jammu or Srinagar, and that too taken on pick and choose method hardly represent all departments such as Fine Arts, Music, Dance Theatre, Folk traditions and above all the languages and literature. Even a member  belonging to one particular language is not much aware of the problems being faced by the others who also enjoy the same status of inclusion in the State Constitution. Hence whosoever does not get his genuine share not only feels ignored rather takes it is injustice under such a democratic set up, like ours. Therefore a proper representation to all these departments is a need of the hour and that too  on the franchise basis for a transparent functioning in the Academy. This will also help in fixing responsibility and accountability towards the voters.
Yours etc…
